The Bounty Hunter
The Bounty Hunter is a person who tracks and apprehends fugitives. The fugitive could be a criminal avoiding capture or skipping out on bail, or the fugitive could be an individual targeted by the underworld for kidnapping or ransom. The Bounty Hunter may work for law enforcement or he may work as a freelance agent for underworld crime bosses.
The Bounty Hunter spends their time researching current bounties, tracking their target’s whereabouts, interviewing witnesses, doing computer research, investigating leads, chasing people on foot, searching properties where the target might be hiding, and sometimes getting in fistfights and using non-lethal weapons to subdue their target.
Bounty Hunters often negotiate with contacts and witnesses for tips, even going so far as threatening them or straight-up lying in order to get the information they seek on the target’s whereabouts.
Bounty Hunters typically collect a Bounty of 10% of the Bail Bond the fugitive is skipping out on. If they work for the underworld, the Bounty Hunter collects whatever Bounty has been placed on the target. The Bounty Hunter may hire additional staff, contacts, or even other Bounty Hunters to help them and split the payment with them to whatever degree is agreeable and negotiated between the parties involved.
